Surface Pro 3 and Earlier Power Cords Recalled

In Jan. 2016, Microsoft announced a recall of the power cord component of AC adapters for all Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 2, and Surface Pro devices sold before Mar. 15, 2015, in the United States or Canada and July 15, 2015, in all other markets. The recall is due to a potential for the power supply to overheat if the cord has been repeatedly wrapped incorrectly. Microsoft reports no serious injuries to date. The power cord for the Surface Pro 4, Surface Book, and all other Surface devices are not affected and are not included in the recall.
