First HoloLens Hardware Shipping Soon

HoloLens, a mixed reality headset device that projects three-dimensional images visible to the wearer, will begin shipping to select developer applicants for US$3,000 on Mar. 30, 2016. The first version of the device could enable hands-free work or aid training in fields such as design, manufacturing, and healthcare, but Microsoft is not positioning it for consumer use. The headset contains a full PC and detects movement, gestures, and gazes. It is not tethered to other hardware and connects wirelessly to networks.
