RemoteApp, a feature of RDS (Remote Desktop Services), allows Windows client applications running on a Windows Server machine to interact with a user’s local desktop in a manner that is almost indistinguishable from locally installed applications.

RemoteApp is most appropriate for use with Windows applications that need to be centrally managed, secured, and patched, or that are impractical to install and run locally on user’s devices because of incompatibilities with the local OS or applications.
