Office 365 Activation

Office 365 Activation, the default activation method for Office 365-branded applications, uses a Microsoft hosted service to manage the activation of applications installed on users’ client devices or within virtual desktops deployed using persistent VMs (virtual machines). (A different method, called Shared Computer Activation, is designed to handle client devices used by different users through the day, servers hosting session desktops, and servers hosting virtual desktops that use nonpersistent VMs.) Unless activated, the software operates in a state of very limited functionality.
